As mentioned last week, to date the one feature adaptation of Laird’s work is the film They Remain. It stars William Jackson Harper (of The Good Place) and Rebecca Henderson (of The Acolyte).

The film was directed by our series director Philip Gelatt, produced by our series producer Will Battersby, and shot by our series DP Sean Kirby. As you can probably put together, it was making that film that, years later, led to this current series.

The film is a willfully difficult one, dedicated to a mood of dread and a dedication to frustrating ambiguity (…doing Paul Tremblay proud). Your mileage might vary but we’d encourage you take the trip regardless.

It’s rentable on Amazon, Apple, and other platforms.
