Mariana is an author and journalist from Argentina. Her horror epic Our Share of Night as well as the short story collections Things We Lost in the Fire; A Sunny Place for Shady People; and The Dangers of Smoking in Bed have all been translated into English.

They’re all fantastic.

Mariana features in three episodes of First Word on Horror. Across the episodes she reads her story “La Casa de Adela” in the original Spanish and discusses topics that include growing up under a dictatorship, the aesthetics of evil, and why horror is necessary.

She might well become your new favorite author.

Go ahead. Share the ultra-violence with others.
